Brilliance Auto plans to launch new cars, including the A4 and Brilliance BS6 taxi next year to boost sales, according to Qi Yumin, board chairman of the company.

"I'm quite sure we will mainly focus on two types of cars, the A level and C level," explained Qi. "A0-level cars are also under consideration, but definitely not A00-level cars."

Currently, the company is now concentrating on developing both sedans and commercial vehicles, and doing research on new cars and updating the older models.

For sedans, after the FRV, CROSS, FSV, the upcoming A4 will be the fourth one in the A-level group. The next taxi called BS6 will be released with projected sales of 60,000 to 70,000 units. The commercial vehicle series Sea Lion will have three new members. Brilliance Auto is also developing light trucks with a capacity of under 0.5 ton, as well as special vehicles. In the last three years, the company has spent 3.4 billion yuan on research, said Qi.

"Sales of sedans are expected to be 150,000 units in 2010," Qi revealed. "Minibuses will be 100,000 units, light trucks will be 100,000 units. BMW Brilliance is expected to sell 40,000 to 50,000 units, while mini-buses and SUVs will be 50,000 to 60,000 units."
