Sound Group wins RMB 560 mln contract from Saudi Arabia

Aug. 6, 2009 (China Knowledge) - Sound Group, a Beijing-based company mainly engaged in water disposal and the manufacture of environmental protection equipment, announced that it won a contract worth RMB 560 million from Saudi Arabia.

The project is to upgrade Saudi Arabia's ninth water treatment plant. The Beijing-based company will be in charge of the design work for the first phase and the third phase and will handle construction during the second phase. The total contract value of the three phases is estimated at RMB 700 million.

The company will consider source integration with its subsidiary Epure in accordance with the situation of the capital market, said Wen Yibo, the company's president.

The contract shows that China's water treatment enterprises have successfully entered the international market to solve international environmental issues, an industry insider said.

The company has more than 50 water supply works, water treatment facilities and garbage disposal facilities in China. It also has projects in the Middle East and India and plans to expand into the market in North America.
