Brilliance Auto to ship BS4 Wagon to Europe

Aug. 6, 2009 (China Knowledge) - Brilliance Auto, the Chinese partner of BMW AG, is going through regulator procedures in Europe hoping to be able to sell its original BS4 Wagon in the European market, company executives said on Wednesday, sources reported.

The Chinese auto maker has sold about 4,000 BS4 and BS6 sedans in Europe since 2007 and expects to clear all the regulatory requirements before the end of the year, said sources.

HSO Motors Europe, the importer for Brilliance Auto in Europe, will be the dealer for the BS4 Wagon.

However, the company has not decided the size of the shipment or the prices of the models.

Brilliance Auto, the parent company of Brilliance China Automotive Holding Ltd<1114>, rolled out the BS4 Wagon in late 2008. The sedans come equipped with a 1.8-liter engine or a 2.0-liter engine, and are sold at prices between RMB 108,000 and RMB 138,800.

Brilliance Auto, also known as Huachen, is based in Shenyang, Liaoning Province. China Automotive Co Ltd and Jinbei Automotive Co Ltd are its two wholly-owned subsidiaries.
