Jul. 22, 2009 (China Knowledge) - The Forum on the Implementation of the Outline of the Plan for the Reform & Development of the Pearl River Delta Region was held in Hong Kong yesterday, sources reported. Donald Tsang, the Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, and Wan Qingliang, the vice governor of Guangdong Province, attended the Forum. During the three-hour forum, officials of nine cities of the Pearl River Delta, namely Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Zhuhai, Foshan, Huizhou, Dongguan, Zhongshan, Jiangmen and Zhaoqing, introduced their cities' investment environment, competitiveness and development trend, hoping to seize more opportunities from the cooperation with the SAR. Tsang said that the HKSAR government has been attaching great importance to the implementation of the outline of the plan for the reform and development of the Pearl River Delta. The forum has provided a good platform for the further cooperation between the two regions, said Tsang, adding that the HKSAR government will actively cooperate with Guangdong Province to promote the implementation of the plan and boost the long-term development between Hong Kong and the Pearl River Delta.
