Jul. 15, 2009 (China Knowledge) - Taiwan-based Acer Inc, the world's third-largest PC brand, is expected to launch a dual-OS netbook, which runs both Microsoft's Windows XP and Google's Android, in August, sources reported. The new netbook is made to bring conveniences to PC users, with a dual-boot device offering users either Windows XP or Android system. The dual-OS model, which will be equipped with an 8.9-inch or 10-inch display, is unlikely to be provided at a lower price than the Windows XP netbook, because Acer still has to pay a license fee for Windows XP. In June, Acer announced that it has plans to launch Android netbook, when the PC maker attended Computex Taipei, the world's second largest computer trade show.
