Jun. 29, 2009 (China Knowledge) - TCL Corp<000100>, a major Chinese television and mobile phone manufacturer, on Tuesday announced that it will cooperate with Chengdu Xinwang Media to launch new digital TV models in Chengdu, the capital of Sichuan Province, sources reported. The cooperation with Chengdu Xinwang Media will help TCL achieve its plans to expand into the all-in-one digital TV market in West China. TCL earlier launched its first all-in-one digital TVs in Beijing with Beijing Gehua CATV Network Co in April. The new models are all-in-one digital TVs with integrated HDTV receivers. Users can insert a conditional access module (CAM) card that stores their identity information to enjoy wireless digital TV programs. Users of older models must use a set-top box to receive digital TV signals. TCL is currently focusing on the digital TV industry. The company set up two new LCD flat-screen TV production lines at its Chengdu plant last month. The two plants are expected to produce 300,000 LCD flat-screen TVs in 2009, and to increase output to 1.4 million in 2010. Copyright © 2009 www.chinaknowledge.com |
