Thomson Reuters, Taiwan's STPI sign MOU

Jun. 23, 2009 (China Knowledge) - The Healthcare & Science business of Thomson Reuters Corp on Monday announced that it has signed of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Science & Technology Policy Research and Information Center (STPI), a non-profit organization under the National Applied Research Laboratories in Taiwan, to jointly provide direction and support for Taiwan's Science & Technology (S&T) development.  

Thomson Reuters will provide its expertise in measuring and assessing research as well as databases and professional support to help the STPI develop international-standard methods for monitoring the research output of research institutions and technology companies in Taiwan.

STPI will provide S&T policy research to the local government so that it can accelerate the growth of research and innovation and improve Taiwan's S&T competitiveness in the global market.

STPI was established in 2005 and used to be an operational unit of Taiwan's National Science Council.
