Jun. 2, 2009 (China Knowledge) - The Beijing Economic-technological Development Area (BDA) announced that it has obtained RMB 15.68 billion in investment in eleven key projects in Yizhuang, a satellite town of China's capital city, Beijing, at the international forum of the 12th China Beijing International High-tech Expo held at the Great Hall of the People on May 20.

Shide Group, a private conglomerate based in Dalian City, will invest RMB 3 billion in building group headquarters and supporting facilities in BDA. Beijing Tiantan Biological Products Corp Ltd<600161> and CECT-Chinacomm Communications Co Ltd will each spend RMB 2 billion to set up headquarters in the zone. The former company's investment will focus on integrating the development of biological vaccines, R&D of diagnostic reagents and manufacturing and sales of its pharmaceutical products, while the latter company will mainly conduct business related to communication and information services.

The new energy sector is also important for BDA. JYT Corporation plans to invest RMB 1.6 billion to build a polysilicon material industrial park in the zone, which may help BDA form a solar PV industrial chain. Arreon Carbon UK Ltd will also join in the development by providing technological services related to new energy development and R&D activities.

An international standard business center costing RMB 4.5 billion will also be built in Yizhuang. It will comprise offices, apartments as well as leisure and shopping facilities.

Moreover, BDA will house several R&D centers and the marketing headquarters of some domestic firms. Beijing D-View Technology Co Ltd will spend RMB 400 million in building an R&D center in the zone to develop and manufacture world-leading high-end display monitors for the professional markets.

Furthermore, China-Africa Machinery Corporation, which targets African markets, plans to invest in BDA in the fields of mechanical engineering and agriculture.
