Introduction

Located 9 km west of downtown Haikou, the Hainan International Science and Technology Industrial Park (Hainan ISTIP) is a state level high-tech industrial development zone, which was established by the State Council in 1991.

Hainan ISTIP is 3 km away from the nearest train station, 9 km away from the Haikou Meilan International Airport and 3 km away from Haikou Port.

Haikou Port is a major port in the southern coastal area of China. It has opened 23 international sea routes. Ships setting sail from this port can reach South Korea, Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and Australia.

Investment Climate

Hainan ISTIP is the only state level high-tech industrial development zone in the Hainan Province. It is located in Haikou City - the provincial capital. The zone is adjacent to Hong Kong, Taiwan and other areas in Southeast Asia. Being the transport hub which connects Mainland China and Southeast Asia, Haikou has the advantage of developing an export-oriented economy as well as high-tech industries.

Haikou also has the best environmental conditions in China. Its air quality ranks top among all the large and medium cities within the nation. The healthy environment attracts many high-tech talents. Furthermore, the well-protected environment is also good for the development of electronic and biopharmaceutical industries which require good air quality.

The pillar industries of Hainan ISTIP are the biopharmaceutical, microelectronics, optical, mechanical and electronic integration industries.
