Apr. 27, 2009 (China Knowledge) - China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC), the country's largest integrated oil and gas company, intends to team up with Shaanxi Yanchang Petroleum (Group) Co Ltd to build an ethylene plant worth RMB 23 billion, sources reported. The new plant will be located in Yan'an City, Shaanxi Province and will produce an estimated 1 million tons of ethylene per year. The plan has not yet been approved by China's National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC). On Apr. 23, CNPC started construction of an RMB 15.6 billion ethylene project in Fushun City, Liaoning Province. The project will be completed in December 2011.
