Haier approved to set up national-level lab

Apr. 17, 2009 (China Knowledge) - Haier Group, the fourth largest white goods manufacturer in the world and parent of Haier Electronics Group Co Ltd<1169> and Qingdao Haier Co Ltd<600690>, recently obtained the approval to set up a national-level Digital Home Network Lab, the first national-level engineering lab for China's home appliance industry, the Shanghai Securities News reported.

The Digital Home Network Lab will help the company to solve key technological problems in integrating the information of TV, PC and mobile phone and display the information on TV screen and mobile phone screen. Meanwhile, Haier will develop the technology to realize the information exchange and connections between 3C products.

National engineering lab is an institution which will conduct independent innovative R&D activities so as to help the related industry improve its core competence.

In 2007, Hair set up a digital home appliance national engineering lab.
