Apr. 13, 2009 (China Knowledge) - Shanghai Chengtou Corp, parent of Shanghai Chengtou Holding Co Ltd<600649>, yesterday said the company is beginning construction on what will be Asia's largest slurry treatment facility, the Shanghai Bailong Port slurry treatment project, the official Xinhua News Agency reported. The slurry treatment project will cost a total of RMB 680 million. When the project is completed, it will treat 2 million cubic meters of waste water from the Bailong Port sewage treatment works per day. It will also treat 204 tons of dry sludge per day. The treated material will be used in landscaping and to cover landfills. Meanwhile, another slurry treatment project in Zhuyuan of Shanghai will begin construction soon and will be completed by 2012.
