GuangDong Midea Electric Appliances releases annual report
Published: 10 Mar 2009 02:21:40 PSTMar. 10, 2009 (China Knowledge) - GuangDong Midea Electric Appliances Co<000527>, a subsidiary of Guangdong Midea Group, China's leading home electronic appliance maker, yesterday announced its annual report, which showed a net profit decrease in 2008, sources reported. The company realized around RMB 1.03 billion in net profit in 2008, down 14.78% from one year earlier. Earnings per share (EPS) were RMB 0.55. The company will issue a dividend of about RMB 1.00 per 10 shares (including tax). The operating income of the company increased 28.8% year on year to RMB 45.3 billion in 2008. The washing machine business realized about RMB 4.22 billion in operating income, having surged 136.8% year on year, and the refrigerator sector contributed around RMB 5.01 billion in operating income, representing a year-on year increase of 36.3% in 2008.
