China Unicom tested the WCDMA network for iPhone in Henan and Hebei provinces. Before that, the telecom carrier had already launched network testing in Shenzhen in southern China and obtained satisfying testing results. China Unicom declined to comment on the report. According to earlier report, China Unicom had made great progress in talks with Apple Inc to sell iPhone in China mainland, and may start selling the 3G phone based on the WCDMA technology in May, when the company scheduled to launch 3G services across the country.
