Dec. 29, 2008 (China Knowledge) - China UnionPay (CUP) will cooperate with Japan-based retailers and manufactures to open an electronic mall in China for Japanese goods next month, sources reported. The Internet shopping mall, namely "Buy-J.com", will accept the China UnionPay cards for payment. Through the website, Chinese customers will be able to purchase the Japanese products on line, pay with the UnionPay cards and have the goods shipped to China. The electronic mall, which is mainly organized by CUP and Sumitomo Mitsui Card Co, will sell gadgets, clothing and cosmetics from about 100 Japanese companies. The E-shopping site has set sales target of ?4 billion in 2009. Electronics retailer Yodobashi Camera Co and drugstore chain Matsumoto Kiyoshi Co are reportedly considering opening shops on Buy-J.com.
