Dec. 23, 2008 (China Knowledge) - U.S.-based financial holding company JPMorgan Chase & Co has raised its shareholding in Sinopec<600028><386><SNP> to 11.17% from 10.86% on Dec. 12, according to the bourse operator Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing (HKEx)<388>. JPMorgan Chase has acquired 51.74 million H-shares in Sinopec for HK$273 million. The average price of the share transaction was HK$5.28 apiece, according to the information released by the HKEx. H-shares of Sinopec tumbled 4.42% to end at HK$4.99 on Dec. 22.
