Dec. 12, 2008 (China Knowledge) - The U.S.-based Cook Medical, one of the world's biggest private-owned medical device companies, will start operation of its new regional shared service complex in Shanghai as early as the beginning of next year, in a bid to enhance its presence in the fast growing medical market in Asia. The complex, involving investment of RMB 50 million (US$7.27 million), consists of a distribution center and customer service center. The two service centers are expected to boost the company's product delivery speed in Asia Pacific regions, sources reported. Cook Medical said in a statement that the customer service center will process customers' orders and requirements from countries and areas, including mainland China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, South Korea, Japan, Singapore, Malaysia, India, Philippines, Thailand, Indonesia, Cambodia and Vietnam.
