Ltd<600009>, the operator of Hongqiao International Airport and Pudong International Airport in Shanghai, plans to further increase its landing slots for airlines next year in preparation of the World Expo in 2010. The move is targeting at a higher profit growth for the airline operator next year, the Shanghai Daily reported, citing Jia Ruijun, president with Shanghai International Airport, as saying. However, Jia did not disclose further information on the expansion plan. Takeoffs and landings in Shanghai hit 440,809 in 2007, representing a robust increment of 7.6%, compared with those in the corresponding period of 2006, sources reported. Shares of Shanghai International Airport slightly edged down 0.78% to close at RMB 11.50 on Thursday.
