Nov. 26, 2008 (China Knowledge) - A retail drugstore alliance consisting of 22 chain medical companies has been formed in Hubei province, central China, sources reported. The 22 retail drugstores, which take up 40% of the medical market in the capital city Wuhan of Huibei, will set up a collective purchasing platform to avoid the lengthy procedures from the existing supply chain. Therefore, the retail prices of medicines sold in these stores are expected to be reduced by 3% to 5%. The alliance is also expected to be expanded to include over 30 retail medical companies with operations in 17 cities in the province.
