Nov. 20, 2008 (China Knowledge) - UBS AG, a premier global financial services company, will lay off 200 employees in Hong Kong in phases by next February, sources reported, citing an insider with UBS, as saying.

The lay-off started since last month, said the insider, without giving which more details.

The Switzerland-based bank said in its third quarter report that it planned to slash 3,000 jobs worldwide, and about 400 staff in the Asia-Pacific region are expected to be laid off.
