![]() Nov. 20, 2008 (China Knowledge) - The U.S.-based FedEx Corp, the world's largest air-cargo shipper, announced that its Guangzhou hub is expected to start operation at the Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport at the beginning of next year, sources reported. With an investment of US$150 million, the new hub will be operated by FedEx Express, a subsidiary of FedEx Corp and will be the largest outside the U.S. as well as FedEx's Asia-Pacific hub in the next 30 years. The Guangzhou hub will be connecting 24 major cities in the region with more than 220 countries and regions where FedEx has already had operations. FedEx's current Asia-Pacific hub in the Philippines will be closed when the new hub in Guangzhou commences operation, the company said.
