Nov. 20, 2008 (China Knowledge) - China Aviation Industry Corp (AVIC), the newly merged entity of China's two main state-owned aviation manufacturers, AVIC I and AVIC II, plans to inject part of its core assets into Xi'an Aircraft International Corp<000768>, said Geng Ruguang, vice general manager of AVIC. The assets planned to be transferred into Xi'an Aircraft include the civil aircraft assets of Chengdu Aircraft and Shenyang Aircraft, Geng added, without providing the scale and the timetable for the transfer. Meanwhile, Geng also said talks with Dongfeng Motor Corp, parent of Dongfeng Motor Group Co, to buy the controlling stake in AVIC's unit Harbin Hafei Automobile Industry Group had failed to achieve any agreement.
