Fifteen crew members were missing after a ship carrying 1,500 tons of coal sank near central Vietnam's Quang Nam province, the Xinhua news agency reported Wednesday, citing an online news source in Vietnam.
The ship, which belongs to a private owner in Vietnam, had an accident in bad weather and then sank Tuesday evening, the Chinese news agency reported, citing the Web site www. vnexpress.net.
It said that the local maritime rescue center had sent a rescue craft to search for the missing crew members, but that rain and strong winds were hampering efforts.
