Spring is the season for textile shows in Beijing. Intertextile Beijing 2009 once again was held at the China International Exhibition Center, in tandem with the Yarn Expo Spring and CHIC, reafirming the region as a prime location to source all of the needs from ibers and yarns to textiles and clothing.

Intertextile Beijing featured nearly 1,000 fabric and accessories suppliers from 14 countries and regions, showcasing their latest textiles on 48,000 sqm of exhibition space. Special pavilions from Germany, Italy, Taiwan and Korea featured their specialty products on the international halls.

Mr. Yoon Young Sang, Vice President of Korea Fashion Textile Association maintained that textile trade relations between the two respective countries is expected not to be dropped, but rather will be increased by 5% in 2009 from the year 2008. He further commented on the importance of expanding trade with China and using Intertextile Beijing Apparel Fabrics as a gateway to the massive local market

Mr. Wolfgang Klopfer, Managing Director of TreuTex GmbH from the Germany Pavilion, also expressed his confidence to the Chinese market: "most of our exhibitors said that they did not feel the crisis in China. Our exhibitors are happy this time, because they made lots of contact. We are surprising that there are more visitors here than last time. Many exhibitors were not so optimistic when we came, but after three days, we are optimistic to get out in a good trip from the crisis."

In addition to the sourcing apparel fabrics from international suppliers and special pavilions, domestic Chinese brands was classified under: women's wear, shirtings, suitings, jeanswear, functional and sportswear and accessories zone.

Moreover, in keeping up with the demands of buyers, the show also presented the Interstoff Asia Directions and fabric China trend forums, which mirror the hottest design and fashion trends for Spring/Summer 2010.

Interview of Mr. Wolfgang Klopfer, Managing Director of TreuTex GmbH

Q: What are the main characteristics of the products made in Germany?

A: You mean the exhibitors here. We have wool fabrics, printed fabrics, sewing thread. Most are printed fabrics, with the color that you can not find in China, also some linings, and so on. We have the techniques to produce some speciic textiles products. We have a lot of development and research centers in each company, which may be considered as one of the largest strength of the products made in Germany

Q: Comparing with other overseas fabrics suppliers, what are the main advantages of the German products?

A: The main advantages are our high-level of quality, of shipping details. If you made an agreement that the goods should be shipped on a ixed date, we will ship it in the ixed date. And if the Chinese customers have some questions, we will be here and discuss with them to ind the solutions. Besides, we have high-level of production, service and creativity.

Q: Is there any cooperation between German enterprises and domestic Chinese enterprises?

A: There are a few German enterprises who have established business with enterprises in China, especially in the ields of yarn spinning. A German yarn spinner has already established a mill near the city of Shanghai, named Zhangjiagang Yangtse Spinning Co., Ltd. They cooperate in the ields of wool worsted yarns. What we have done in Germany, now it can be produced in China.

Q: What do you think of this fabric exhibition fair?

A: The textile fair is one of the most important exhibition fair in northern part of China. And our exhibitors are happy to participate in the fair here: it is a good opportunity to meet a lot of people, contact with consumers to make orders. The Chinese enterprises could exchange experience with other countries. In my opinion, the most important thing, it put people together. It provides a platform to exchange views, to exchange experience..

An informative seminar programmes were held throughout the exhibition fair, covering hot industrial topics including design and trends, product technology, research and development, market strategy and legal issues surrounding copyrights and trade.
The internationally well-known Intertextile show has always been a key trading destination to connect many local textile production chains with domestic and overseas markets, as well as providing an invaluable and cost effective means for trade to amidst the challenging economy of 2009.

The exhibition booth of DING ZING is not so colorful or filled with various patterns of fabrics, comparing with other fashion fabrics suppliers, however, nearly each visitor stopped his step to see the products exhibited here.

Trend Release

Frankly speaking, trend release could be a highlight during this exhibition fair. Either domestic or overseas research institutions presented their view to the color or pattern of fabrics in the next season.

The following part will list the S/S 2010 Trend released by the Interstoff Asia Directions trend committee during the Intertextile exhibition fair, with the theme of "Trustworthy Pleasure":

More than ever trust is at the heart of the matter, the core of all kinds of systems, while in fashion textiles trends are the hard core of the system.

So for spring summer 2010 trends should certainly be trustworthy, but also extremely pleasurable.

Following these trends, we shall look for light, in both senses of this word: the luminosity of whites and pale colours, the lightness of ethereal almost transparent materials.

Then we shall look for he innocent, refreshing pleasures of childhood materials, like ginghams and plenty of checks and stripes in candy colours, revisited with a modern glossy inish.

We shall need also some deep rooting to help us connect to the real world: so go for handcrafted looks, natural and ecological materials, lush botanical prints. Last but not least we shall dive into the vibrant energy of true bright colours and decorative folk fabrics, saturated with joy and sensuality.

In trends we trust...

• FRAGILE POETRY

A philosophy of ephemeral, imperfect aesthetics give way to a new poetic scheme, calm and serene, where everything is beautifully suggested and understated.

• NATIVE SOUL

Claiming for the lush abundance and the beauty of the planet in its original state: a cry for the native world Kcombined with notes of modern technology.

• PREPPY INNOCENCE

A feeling of childhood happiness for a new optimistic look at the future. The light-hearted and mischievous allure of an innocent child-woman, with a zest of modern elegance.

• VIBRANT HEAT

The sensual beat of a torrid Latin American afternoon, between torpor and festivities.Join the churches and the market places for both a spiritual and vibrant trip.
