Our company joined Alibaba.com and became a Gold Supplier in 2006. We tried to start our overseas promotion through this platform.
Our company was not large-scale and had no foreign trade department and professional foreign trade salespeople at that time. So I had to shoulder the tough responsibility of overseas promotion. However, I had no experience in this field, either.

Half a year later, I received some trial orders. Then I finally got a big order. One customer from Belorussia would buy one 20HQ of our bottle caps. Our product was small in size, so an order for 20HQ was really a big one to us. I still remember this customer, because he is a very kind person. He taught me a lot about shipment, and I do appreciate him. His name is Mr. Sergey.
After we successfully closed a few orders, we started to apply the right of handling import and export so as to make it easier for us to deal with payment from foreign customers. Finally, we made it. Thus, we could directly contact overseas customers without the assistance of export agent companies. I also took this opportunity to learn more knowledge and skills of foreign trade which were very helpful to my work.
Now we have contacted many buyers from different corners of the world through Alibaba.com. In this way, we not only obtained a good amount of orders, but also broadened our horizons. I found my way on Alibaba.com, and I believe this way will be wider. I'm extremely grateful to Alibaba.com. We will grow up together with Alibaba.com!
