Jiexu (Tianjin) International Trading Co., Ltd. has been an Alibaba China Gold Supplier member for two years! In 2003, 320 inquiries from Global buyers were received but no business was concluded.
By September, 2004, more than 200 inquiries have been received. The company owner Mr. Li Yi Nong, mentioned that inquiries will be exceeding 400 by the end of the year. Meanwhile, 3 orders worth of USD200, 000 from Alibaba oversea buyers have been successfully gained this year.
There is an old saying that "Rome was not built in a day". After one long year, Jiexu finally got its first success of B2B, which brought its owner Mr. Li many thoughts and feelings.
"Jiexu (Tianjin) International Trading Co., Ltd. was established in 2001, specializes in exporting worldwide frozen poultry, rabbit, pork, vegetable and fruit. I have worked personally in this field for more than ten years. Jiexu has been developing more international buyer resources since its establishment. Besides traditional customers, Jiexu also explores new customer by attending international Food Fairs (Such as ANUGA in Koln, Germany, SIAL in Paris, France). Nevertheless these traditional methods cannot keep up with our business-developing requirements. And I found out that many business partners and buyers mentioned about Alibaba.com, the top B2B site has already showed its prosperous foreground and earned good reputation among global buyers and suppliers.
With thought of trial, Jiexu became a 'China Gold Supplier' member in April 2003 and began to explore trade sources through internet.
One point is affirmative that, B2B offers more efficiency to suppliers and buyers. It has dramatic advantage compared with traditional methods of business in sourcing customers and communication efficiency --- traditional trade course is to make business after meeting, but now through internet global buyers can be touched without meeting.
From first registering on Alibaba.com up till this April, we got the first deal one year later. Based on two year's experience of using Alibaba, I realized what B2B brings to Jiexu is not immediate, but gradual improvement. Without accumulation of markets, we won't gain those businesses valued of USD 200,000 from Alibaba.
From the 320 inquiries received from buyers all over the world last year, a huge market potential has shown up.
This April, an inquiry arrived for frozen rabbit from East Europe. Immediately we did searches on Meat Regulation and Standards of importer country. Then a set of Certification was prepared for customer's reference. This is the first step of exporting of frozen meat to a new market/country. Only meeting local foodstuffs laws and regulation the frozen meat could be exported into that market.
Shortly we received reply that our certificate was not acceptable by their border Vet. Authority, which made both of us disappointed. It seems less hope to continue on this deal. However, a few days later, the buyer suddenly made a phone call and brought us good news that our model was accepted by their Vet. Authority after lots of serious discussion during their visits. At that moment, no words can describe my feeling. For the first trial order, a valued USD50, 000 products were ordered! From first correspondence in April, communicating through May, shipment in June and arrival in July, FOUR months had passed. During this period, nearly 80 e-mails had been sent by Jiexu, and 40 replies from the buyer.
The happiness is; our products were very welcome and therefore as consequence, two more orders worth of USD 100,000 were placed by that customer later on.
As a trade company, the biggest advantage of Jiexu is to provide better service. The advantage of being very well-informed about the international tradition, foreign trade operating flow, reliability and quality control had offered Jiexu huge success.
For instance, Jiexu started supplying IQF vegetable to Korea since this July. A buyer ordered 40MT IQF vegetable valued USD40, 000 but in spread shipments from July until next April. Usually spread shipments are not welcome by Chinese Exporters as it would create extra costs on stocking, finance, and management. Secondly, it is high risky term for agricultural products which are influenced seriously by season.
But Jiexu had agreed with buyer to fulfill his inquiry. Further on buyer requested air-mail sample for quality approval and agreed to take the air-mail fee for their bank account. First sampling did not go through customs clearance due to documentation problem. The second time Jiexu arranged sampling successfully without mentioning any charge. Although it gave Jiexu some extra cost this is the way Jiexu takes care the business and customers.
Time always goes quickly. Two years have passed since the moment Jiexu joined ALIBABA. Today through B2B platform Jiexu is approaching more and more successful businesses.
