TAIPEI --Taiwan and the U.S. could reach an agreement on mutual-investment and avoidance of double taxation as early as the end of 2010, the Economic Daily News reported Tuesday, citing Rupert J. Hammond-Chambers, President of the Washington-based US-Taiwan Business Council.
The issues are core to a free-trade agreement between the two sides, the Chinese-language newspaper reported.
The US-Taiwan Business Council is a non-profit organization that seeks to develop trade and business between the U.S. and Taiwan, according to its Web site.
