On February 24, Vice Minister LU Peijun held a bilateral meeting with Mr. Ricardo Echegaray, Administrator of the Federal Administration of Public Revenue of Argentine Republic in Buenos Aires, and signed the Agreement Between the Government of the People’s Republic of China and the Government of the Argentine Republic on Cooperation and Mutual Administrative Assistance in Customs Matters with Mr. Ricardo Echegaray.
Vice Minister LU put forward four proposals on strengthening cooperation. Firstly, to sign and implement the Agreement between China and Argentina in order to promote cooperation on Customs mutual administrative assistance. Secondly, to make joint study on the cooperation on mutual recognition of AEO and actively promote trade facilitation. Thirdly, to increase exchanges on Customs clearance issues and help enterprises with matters in this respect through coordinated efforts. Fourthly, to enhance communication and coordination under the multilateral framework.
On the same day, Vice Minister LU met with Mr. Carlos Alberto Sanchez, Director General of Customs of the Federal Administration of Public Revenue of Argentine Republic. Both sides positively assessed Customs cooperation between the two countries. Vice Minister LU made several proposals on stepping up cooperation. Firstly, to speed up the implementation of the Agreement Between China and Argentina on Mutual Administrative Assistance in Customs Matters. Secondly, to strengthen cooperation between Customs and enterprises so as to promote trade facilitation. Thirdly, to develop cooperation on the application of Customs technological equipments and inspection devices. Fourthly, to cooperate on capacity building.
