Published: 04 Sep 2013 18:30:55 PST

William J. DeWitt III will be stepping down as associate dean for Maine Maritime Academy’s Loeb-Sullivan School of International Business and Logistics by this year’s fall semester and will return to teaching full-time as a professor of logistics at the school.

Donald Maier has been elected by the faculty as department chair for the undergraduate international business and logistics degree and appointed by MMA’s vice president of academics as Loeb-Sullivan School of International Business and Logistics’ new associate dean and as director of graduate studies for the graduate global logistics and maritime management degree. He joined MMA’s Loeb-Sullivan School of International Business and Logistics in January 2011 as an associate professor.

DeWitt taught at the University of Maryland, College Park, from 1999 to 2007, and held an appointment as professor of the practice, logistics, transportation and supply chain management at the Robert H. Smith School of Business. He worked for Burlington Northern Railroad from 1972 to 1995 in operations, strategic planning and as vice president of marketing and sales for three different business units.
